My First Week @ IIFT

Well I am a tad too late considering 7 mnths are already over. However The first impressions have an indelible mark in our minds..Etched there forever

"Few have strength of reason to overrule the perceptions of sense, and yet fewer have curiosity or benevolence to struggle long against the first impression: he who therefore fails to please in his salutation and address is at once rejected, and never obtains an opportunity of showing his latest excellences or essential qualities."
Johnson: Rambler #166

My findings of first week- people respond intuitively to faces so rapidly that our reasoning minds may not have time to influence the reaction — and that our intuitions about attraction and trust are among those we form the fastest – paint a disquieting picture of assumed judgments.

As time passes and you get to know people, you, of course, develop a more rounded conception of them. But because we make these judgments without conscious thought, we should be aware of what is happening when we look at a person’s face.

Bottomline - Dont judge too quickly :)

Things that I will remember forever-
Tanku’s Tapri, Canteen and Audi ,Top of the world, Acad, CCD,Hexagon, Chai brownie n hostel maggi, ice cream ,Skin Brown ,fair ,yellow; Hostel Roomie n Loomie, Seniors & Juniors, Student body, Student exchange, Yoga, assignments, case studies , b plan , lectures, sleeping with eyes wide open ...

I dedicate the random rambling below to all my Gerento friends!!!

Where tireless striving brings together the managers skill
For the employers and professors delight
Where clarity and logic walk together
And solve any problem when it arrives
Where the mind is full of thoughts and a perfect plan brings a high
Where the deadlines keep you awake , and all you do is sigh!
Where knowledge can be abt the people you know can measure your decree
Where the mind is led forward with ease
Into ever more complicated concepts and actions
Into that heaven of managerial insight, my Father
Let me soon awake!!

Regards,
Madhuri
