   I think that excise duty might be raised. Exemption limit under Section 80C may also be enhanced. There might be positive signs regarding disinvestment too.

   tax slab for individual assessee has been modified. 20% on 5-8 lakhs bracket.... Pranab Mukherjee is targeting at the 350 million strong bourgeoisie of India, which is the largest in the world, and which would majorly fall inside this slab. Right move, I d say, coz individual disposable has been steadily increasing since the beginning of the millenium, and its time we contributed some of that towards the government.
   
   people earning above Rs. 8 lakhs need to part with 30% of their income... it d ve been better if this had been brought down to 25% at least...
   (next yr by this time, i guess we ll know whether we need to pay 20% or 30%... lol)
